When it's worth reviewing your accounting
Taxes arrive with no explanation and no planning.
Simple questions take days to be answered.
Factor R, partners' remuneration and classification have never been reviewed.
Your company changed size and the accounting didn't keep up.
Fees per invoice, per filing or a 13th monthly fee you didn't expect.
Late payments, rejected invoices or tax audits without warning.
What changes and what stays the same when you switch
Switching accountants doesn't change your company. The CNPJ, the tax regime, the city registration, the bank account and your clients stay the same. What changes is who handles the accounting: the new accountant gets access to the company's obligations, receives the history from the previous accountant and takes over the deliveries from an agreed month.
In practice, the switch is a handover. The previous accountant delivers the documents and closes out their last month's obligations; Move checks everything, fixes what is needed and carries on with the routine. For you, the work comes down to authorizing the change and signing the contract.
The switch in five steps
- 01Assessment
We get to know your company and show how much you pay today and how much you could pay.
- 02Contract and authorization
You sign the contract online and authorize Move on e-CAC and with the city, in a few minutes.
- 03Document request
You request the documents from your current accountant, and we tell you what to ask for.
- 04Onboarding review
We check taxes, regime, partners' remuneration, installment plans and pending issues before taking over.
- 05Routine up to date
From the agreed month on, invoices, tax payments and filings are handled by Move.
What the previous accountant must deliver
The accounting code of ethics (NBC PG 01) requires the previous accountant to pass on to the successor the information needed to continue the work. We follow the whole transition.
- Articles of association and all amendments
- Accounting books (journal and ledger) and trial balances
- Filings submitted: DEFIS, DCTFWeb, ECD and ECF, depending on the regime
- Paid tax slips and active installment plans
- Payroll, partners' remuneration and eSocial
- Invoices issued and access to the city's invoicing system
- Known pending issues and ongoing proceedings
- Passwords and certificates used on behalf of the company, which must be changed
How long it takes and when to switch
You can switch in any month, even mid-year. The most common arrangement is for the previous accountant to deliver the obligations up to the close of a month and for Move to take over from the following month, so there is no overlap or gap.
Check the notice period in your current contract, usually 30 days. With the documents in hand, the transition usually takes 15 to 30 days, depending on the case.

→About switching accountants
Do I need to notify my current accountant?
Yes, just communicate your decision and respect the contract's notice period. Move follows the transition.
Is there a cost to switch accountants?
There is no migration fee at Move. Just check the notice period in your current contract.
Can I switch accountants mid-year?
Yes. You can switch in any month. The previous accountant closes the obligations up to an agreed month and Move takes over from the next one.
What happens to the Simples Nacional and my CNPJ?
Nothing changes. The company stays in the same regime with the same CNPJ. Move reviews the classification and, if there is a cheaper regime, proposes the change for the next allowed period.
What about the invoices and tax payments in the month of the switch?
It is agreed who handles each period. That way no invoice or tax payment is left without an owner and nothing is done twice.
My accountant won't hand over the documents. What now?
The accountant has an ethical duty to pass the information to the successor. We guide you on how to formalize the request and, if needed, recover much of the data directly from the Federal Revenue and city systems.
What if there are old pending issues?
We review everything at onboarding and present what needs to be regularized before moving on, with clear priorities and costs.
How long does the switch take?
With the authorization and the documents, Move takes over the routine in a few days. Most commonly, the switch takes effect from the following month.
Does Move serve my city?
Yes. Service is 100% online, for healthcare professionals and companies all over Brazil.
Can switching accountants reduce my taxes?
Often, yes. In the onboarding review we check Factor R, partners' remuneration, regime and CNAE, the points that most often make healthcare companies overpay.
